In June 2022, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to pass the “Ocean Shipping Reform Act,” which will give the government’s shipping competition greater authority to help U.S. exporters.
While the bill could make some improvements for U.S. exporters, it is unlikely it will solve supply chain congestion or lower increased freight rates and costs for U.S. consumers.
