In the first ten months of 2022, Taiwanese exports to the European Union grew at a rate of 14.9% annually, as Taiwan has called for talks on a bilateral investment agreement, (an “agreement made between two countries containing reciprocal undertakings for the promotion and protection of private investments”).
Between January and October, Taiwan exported goods to the EU worth US$29.7 billion, while imports from the bloc tallied US$32.8 billion (an 8.8% rise compared to the same period last year).
Taiwan has become the 13th largest trade partner of the EU, and 16 of the 27 EU member countries have representative offices in Taiwan.
